On March 1st, 1949, Karl Bahns
sr. together with his brother Max and his two sons Karl jr. and Rolf founded the
Karl Bahns steel goods factory at the Burger Landstraße 26. This was the
foundation stone for the positiv development of the company till nowadays. The
steady and sucessful development is based on the synergy of high-quality and precise
work done by hand with modern technology and innovation. Already the third generation
carries on this thought of tradition and progress consequently.
Especially
the high-quality "Burgvogel" products, whose quality derives from careful
work, the use of best steel and long-standing experience, are yet distributed
in the whole world.
Already 1949 the Karl Bahns steel goods factory used
a semi-automatic knife grinding machine and so were among the first firms in Solingen
who used this technical innovation. In the first years the workforce consisted
of ten persons, who mostly did labour and manufactured painting tools. In 1950
son Heinz joined the company of his father and in the following year the estate
of Burger Landstraße 60 became property of the steel goods factory Karl
Bahns. In 1952 the whole company moved into the new place, which ist the base
of the factory till today.
